The InnoVISION2024 comprises two competitions. Further details and guidelines are provided below.

The competition is open to all undergraduate students across all institutions in Oman.

Math Quiz Competition

Welcome to the exciting journey of mathematical exploration and competition! Designed for undergraduate students who are passionate about mathematics, this unique quiz competition is structured to challenge your intellect and stimulate your curiosity across four engaging rounds. Dive into the depths of problem-solving, where analytical skills and logical reasoning reign supreme. Prepare to be visually captivated in our second round, where geometry and graphical puzzles await your ingenious solutions. Sharpen your wit with math puzzles and riddles that promise to entertain as much as they educate. Finally, immerse yourself in the rich history and trivia of mathematics, celebrating the legacy of mathematical discoveries and the luminaries who made them. Whether you’re a seasoned mathematician or a curious enthusiast, this competition offers a platform to showcase your talents, connect with fellow math aficionados, and celebrate the universal language of mathematics. Gear up for an intellectual adventure that promises to be as enlightening as it is thrilling!

Guidelines:

  1. Official Language
    • English will be used as an official language for Math quiz
  2. Resources
    • Bring essential materials such as pens, pencils, calculator and Laptop with charger cables and any other accessories if necessary.
  3. Teams
    • The maximum number of teams participating from an organization is Three (3).
    • The maximum number of members per team is Three (3).
  4. Follow specific guidelines regarding the use of electronic devices during the quiz.
  5. Always follow instructions from the quiz moderators and organizers.

 

The Math quiz competition consists of four successive rounds, as outlined below:

1)       Problem Solving Round

  • Each problem will have a specified time limit for solving.
  • If there are multiple parts to a problem, ensure that all parts are answered.
  • Participants should use only the materials pen, paper, and calculator for solving.

2)       Visual Round

  • Carefully observe the visual representation provided for each question.
  • Pay attention to labels, markings, or any additional information provided in the visual.
  • Ensure that any measurements or calculations based on the visual are accurate.
  • Participants should avoid making assumptions not supported by the visual.

3)       Math Puzzles and Riddles

  • Read each puzzle or riddle carefully before attempting to solve.
  • Consider different approaches or strategies for solving the puzzle.
  • Think creatively and outside the box if necessary.

4)       Mathematics History and Trivia Round

  • Questions may cover a range of topics related to the history of mathematics, famous mathematicians, mathematical discoveries, and trivia.
  • Participants should answer each question to the best of their knowledge.

IoT Competition Guidelines

  1. Official Language
    • English will be used as an official language for undergraduate project
    • Presentations, discussions, submissions, and related communications shall be in English.
  2. Teams
    • The maximum number of teams participating from an is Three (3).
    • The maximum number of members per team is Three (3).
  3. Poster

Size: A1 Size is mandatory.

IoT Competition Areas

The program will be conducted in the following areas to enhance the skills and technical knowledge of students. The list can be extended to include all the relevant topics.

  • Robotics
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Renewable Energy
  • Water Desalination and management
  • Any IoT General Applications

Resources

  • Each team must bring their own resources like laptops and other equipment required for their project/ live demonstration.
  • Each team is required to bring a Project Poster.
  1. Important Timeline
    • Participating project owners must be present at the specified project evaluation time.

General Guidelines

  • The organizing committee will assign judges to select the three winning teams.
  • All participants must remain near their posters during the allocated time and present them to the public and judges.
  • The average of grade points from all judges will be the final score of the project exhibited,
  • The Competition Committee maintains the right to withhold all rewards.
  • The Competition Committee has the right to decide on any rules and regulations which are not listed above.

Evaluation Criteria

  • Creative Concept/ Innovativeness
  • Overall Project Quality (Error-free; Industry-standard designs)
  • Fully functional and Implementable Prototype Design
  • Technology used.
  • Impact of the project [for the community, etc.]
  • Presentation, Visual Aids and Answers to Questions

Note:

  • Participants will receive confirmation which will include their Project ID that will be used for the evaluation by judges.
  • Each participant is expected to bring their own poster of A1 Size to the
  • Arrive at the venue on time to complete registration procedures.
  • Bring a valid ID for registration purposes.
